Rhythm is All Around; Everything is Music

“We have fallen into the place where everything is music”
-Rumi

With Jonas Gerard, it is often hard to tell where the line between art and music lies. Hardly a painting is created in his studio that was not born while music was playing, and there is always a variety of percussion instruments within easy reach during painting sessions.  In his artwork, powerful brush strokes display the rhythms of their birth, much like an abstract musical notation.  Whether during a live painting performance or a late night solitary moment, music and the brush go hand-in-hand.

And… sometimes when there are open-hearted visitors, the music spills out onto the studio floor.  Channeling drumming spirits as diverse as Mickey Hart and Tito Puente, when the rhythm is right, you just have to move with it.

Yo también soy pintor , me identifico totalmente con su obra ya que para mi la música es un reflejo de la pintura.Gracias por compartir sus joyitas y estoy a las órdenes.
